Atrocity Exhibition aims to exhibit good poetry.
Send us your poems, photographs, watercolors, essays, collages, blackouts, translations, flash fiction, short stories, journal entries, scribbles, tweets, text messages, everything. Everything.
We privilege inclusive works. If your work seeks to hurt, disparage, or discredit an individual or group - specifically any group that has historically been marginalized, stereotyped, or silenced - don't send it here, or anywhere.
If you have a problem with something you see on the site, don't hesitate to email us. We'd love to hear from you.
Submit between 1 and 100 works to [email protected].
Please attach artwork as a .jpg and written work as a .doc, .pdf, or .txt (additionally, we would prefer the text pasted into the body of the email, if possible). Put the word 'submission' somewhere in the subject line of the email.
In your cover letter, please include a third-person bio with links to your social media accounts. An author photo would be cool; send one if you'd like.
Simultaneous submissions encouraged. Multiple submissions discouraged.
If a month passes and you still have not received word on your submission, feel free to send a query.
Previously-published pieces are fine if they originally appeared on your personal blog or in print. Be sure to cite the original location. If the piece currently exists in another journal online, please don't send it without asking beforehand.
Send queries to [email protected] with the word 'query' in the subject line.
